Our Techniques

If you’ve been to a chiropractor before and have questions about different chiropractic techniques or the differences between Chiropractors, Osteopaths aand Physiotherapists, please talk to Roger Reid ( The Chiropractor) now. We want you to relax, enjoy and fully benefit from your chiropractic care.

We use a combination of different techniques to get you moving better, some are very gentle and some are a bit more physical, they are always specific to your needs and are usually not at all painful. The following is a description of the different techniques:

Activator Methods®

One of the most popular “low force” chiropractic techniques in the world.

First the Evaluation

We begin by analyzing how well your spine moves. We test how well you turn and bend and do various orthopaedics tests. We also asses your nerves with neurological tests. While you’re lying face down, we’ll evaluate the length of your legs. This simple procedure can reveal significant differences in leg lengths.

This time-tested protocol tells us if vertebral misalignments exist and their location. It also helps us know when to adjust and when not to adjust.

The Adjusting Instrument

The Activator Methods® Adjusting Instrument is a handheld spring-loaded tool that delivers a consistent low-force, high-speed thrust.

Because it is so much faster than adjustments delivered by hand, the body rarely tightens to resist, making adjustments comfortable and effective and as it is so fast, there is much less force, making it safer with less soreness after. It’s also helpful for adjusting elbows, wrists, knees and other joints of the body, the force is very specific due to the smaller contact point and speed of the thrust.

The Follow Up

After your adjustment, we retest to make sure changes have been produced. Testing afterwards helps us deliver high-quality care and high levels of patient satisfaction.

Diversified

Diversified is a highly skilled Chiropractic adjustment given by hand, it is fast, gentle (although not as gentle as the Activator method) and very effective, the adjustment will often result in a small popping noise, this is normal. Having trained as a diversified Chiropractor and worked for over 13 years doing mainly diversified Roger Reid  is highly skilled at delivering these (often life changing) adjustments.

Thomson ternimal point Technique

Using specialised drop tables the Chiropractor is able to free restrictions in the pelvis and spine, Roger Reid completed a masters Degree comparing Thompson drop technique and diversified adjusting in the treatment of sacroiliac joint dysfunction.
